Re: the Spider-Man and 400 conversation, I think it's worth noting that a Spider-Man movie hasn't surpassed $400 million domestically since the first one became just the fifth movie to do so back in 2002. I feel like that, if nothing else, would be enough motivation to push Sony to get Far from Home past that mark if it's close enough.

Hoping HS goes up from 7 Fri

7.5

11.25 (+50%)

8.25 (-27%)

= 27

$7.5M would be a 87.5% increase from a $4M Thursday. Seems a bit high for this time of year with large percentage of schools still out.

Yeah agree. 75% gives 7m (deadline) and that itself seems optimistic. I was going full wishful 😛

Might end up a little below 7.

Well, I’d love to see the MCU rack up a ninth 400+/1.1B+. Only 10 non-MCU (probably a dozen by end of year though). 390s is still a perfectly respectable finish if that’s how the chips fall though.

Also a solid CS for Dora. Maybe it will leg better than I was thinking.

what must have changed in the fri number for deadline to go from 24.8 to 24.7 for HS. 😃

if fri changed from 7.0 to 6.9 it would lead to a bigger drop than of 0.1 over the weekend.

6.9 is a nice Friday, so that means a better IM ;)

Well that pasted a bit oddly, but I guess you can see the important bits. For 11th and 12th:

Quote

Lastly, Bleecker Street’s sports drama Brian Banks isn’t scoring a box office touchdown at 1,240 locations, bringing in $1.87M.

Quote

Trafalgar Releasing’s South Korean boy band concert pic Bring the Soul: The Movieis looking at $600K at 700 locations for an estimated $1.7M take in 12th place.

Papa Feige knows to give the nerds what they came here for, and to flex on all the normie producers. Black Panther didn't need to hit 700M, but Papa Feige knew he had to do it for us.

This is Sony so they'll do it cause fudging and making ugly posters is their brand.

Why people are still quoting Deadline is beyond me. It's like taking source from the most unrelieable place possible

That's not true though. These Friday estimates are likely to be close to the studio estimates.

Yep they will be close, 1 important side note here Disneys releases won't be acurate because apparently disney like to under report every number so they can report a better number on monday with the actuals.

I don't need to remind you about the deadline track-record. Everybody and their dog knows this by now and it is what it is hardly a secret. I rest my case here
