Supernatural thriller “Don’t Let Go” has scared up $150,000 at 922 North American locations in Thursday night preview showings.

“Don’t Let Go” is expected to earn between $3 million and $5 million during what should be a typically mild Labor Day weekend at the nation’s multiplexes with the second session for “Angel Has Fallen” likely to repeat as the winner.

LOL at this being up for two hours, and no one bothered to make a new thread

Don't Let Go (the movie) might have done slightly better in January, maybe? "Groundhog Day, but a [horror/thriller/rom-com/etc]" is an easy sell. Or maybe it needed more star power, there was a Sandra Bullock movie sort of like this and it wasn't a huge hit, either.

Anyone know if anything is expanding wide this weekend?

FFH is back in 3162 theaters.

TS4 back in 2715 theaters

Those are the only important expansions that could make a difference. Bunch of other movies got expanded for no reason at all considering their shitty holds. Full chart here:

Thanks. I forgot BOM had a full chart for this. I'll consult this before asking in the future.

Labor Day weekend, the anti-box office

True, but Super Bowl weekend this year was way worse. In fact it usually is unless big December blockbusters and other holdovers are strong.

Given the time and the source, don’t take this too seriously. Deadline is saying:

Angel 8.1 3-day

Good Boys 6M 3-day

Overcomer 4.6M 3-day

Son’t let go 2.4M 3-day

Bennet’s War 470k 3-day

Deadline is so bad with weekend projections.

Even with $2.7M on Friday Angel is Fallen would do $10M+:

Friday-$2.7M

Saturday-$4.3M(+60%)

Sunday-$3.9M(-10%)

$10.9M in 3 days.

And i'm being conservative.
