Don't Let Go (the movie) might have done slightly better in January, maybe? "Groundhog Day, but a [horror/thriller/rom-com/etc]" is an easy sell. Or maybe it needed more star power, there was a Sandra Bullock movie sort of like this and it wasn't a huge hit, either.

I'm rooting for Bennett's War to surpass box office expectations with its grassroots marketing! The YouTube trailer has 15M+ views! Hopefully that's a good omen!

FFH is back in 3162 theaters.

TS4 back in 2715 theaters

 

Those are the only important expansions that could make a difference. Bunch of other movies got expanded for no reason at all considering their shitty holds. Full chart here:

True, but Super Bowl weekend this year was way worse. In fact it usually is unless big December blockbusters and other holdovers are strong.

 Labor Day is the 3 day weekend that for whatever reason studios shun when it comes to big releases.

Those are terrible numbers considering there's not much of anything coming out this holiday weekend. I'd hope for a $2-3 million increase in the 3-day for Angel at least.

if every weekend was like Labor Day weekend where theaters are betting on attendance increases for holdovers

Deadline is so bad with weekend projections. 

Even with $2.7M on Friday Angel is Fallen would do $10M+:

Friday-$2.7M

Saturday-$4.3M(+60%) 

Sunday-$3.9M(-10%) 

$10.9M in 3 days. 

And i'm being conservative.
