Labor Day Weekend Thread: Don't Let Go 150K Previews

Recommended Posts

The Friday:3-day ratio they provided for Angel shows that they’re pretty clueless about the weekend trajectory imo. With Sun flat Fri:3 should be x3.7-x4.5 for live action (and for animation probably more like x4.8). So that AHF 2.7 would be more like an 11M 3-day, similar error on the other movies would be:

Good Boys low 8s

overcomer low 6s

Don’t let go low 3s

Bennet’s war low .6s

So either the Fri night update or the Sat morning update should show pretty huge movement. I honestly debated whether to link that at all it, but I figured if I didn’t probably somebody would eventually with less of a disclaimer upfront 😛

I'm rooting for Bennett's War to surpass box office expectations with its grassroots marketing! The YouTube trailer has 15M+ views! Hopefully that's a good omen!

With 1.3k likes and 200 comments it doesn't indicate that many people watched the trailer.   Either 10,000 people watched it 1,500+ times each or

I think they were using the trailers as online ads so you get a view but not likes or comments. A youtube trailer ad is much, much cheaper than a TV ad so it makes a lot of sense for smaller distributors.

As expected, Lionsgate/Millennium’s Gerard Butler threequel Angel Has Fallen still owns the top spot for the 2nd weekend in a row with an updated estimated $13M 3-day (-39%) and 4-day of $16.8M (there was a major glitch in some gross systems earlier today, oops)

Legit lol if this re-release is what gets Spider-Man past $400M. The MCU's power even extends to re-expansions.

Also it looks like August ended up being not as terrible as everyone thought it would be. Angel Has Fallen is gonna end with a bigger total than London Has Fallen, Good Boys will finish with about $75M, Scary Stories will make $65M, Ready or Not has even surpassed expectations and looks to make $30M+. Not Earth-shattering numbers by any means but hey, at least it isn't total doom and gloom.

I hope you boys are prepared for a week 8 extended cut for all future MCU movies

Just a  re-release would probably have done as well.

I don't know why other than Avengers there's never been an expansion for an MCU film by Disney over Labor Day w/e.   Even with the BR out AEG would probably have made another few million.  This shows there's room for a MCU expansion along side the usual a Pixar expansion.

Spider-Man Extender Cut doing just fine, I was told it was gonna fail lol, general audience don’t care about the Sony/Disney deal.

Just imagine how high it would go without the boycotts :ohmyzod:

there was no "boycotts". the GA will eat up the next Sony spidey film even if it wasn't in the MCU. it will take more than 1 mediocre spider-man film to weaken its box office numbers like with TASM series.

people who think MCU fanbase is the GA need to look outside of twitter for a bit.
