so 8.8 then

This movie will have a big second weekend drop. The people who want to see it have seen it, the reaction has been good but it isn't enough to draw more people to go see it.

The rest of Disney's slate for the year will go hybrid release, bar maybe West Side Story

Looks like your on a roll with your predictions.

While SC numbers are really good , PA was also very successful in retrospect for BW. So , theatre exclusive is more of a choice then a bonafide conclusion. BW and SC will end up doing same overall with slightly more revnue for BW unless SC performs great on PVOD and physical.

In conclusion , while Marvel blockbuster are surviving. We can't say for sure how others will do. JC had a budget of 200m and FG is only 135m.

We need another blockbuster theatre exclusive movie to actually see the numbers and condition of box office.

I was one of the many who was disappointed with BW numbers but they don't look bad anymore. IMO they are actually very solid.

not really shang will pass bw for at least 20 mill in dom and same with os numbers...also reminder black widow had a budget of 200 mill while shang chi has 150...by the end of their box office run and assuming both of them dont get released in china ...black widow will have break even if we add the pa number (which they hurt the film longterm) if we dont then no,while shang will probably break even from theatrical alone...if it also releases in china it will also return some profit and thats without dvd sales etc...so at the end of the day sc wil be more successfull than bw will be.Also in your other point black widow numbers are dissapointing there is no doubt about that ,the movie could have made more money if it was theatrical only...than it did now and the pa release also hurt it a lot in the overseas markets, as for jungle cruise that movie could have break even..the main problem was the budget which was very high to begin with and then we have free guy a movie that will finish with 350 or so and have a decent profit from theatrical alone.....

My reasoning for doing same overall was including PA number. 125m is a lot.

Again, the $125 million was not just PA. The digital release came out on August 10th on all platforms and had a two week run to bundle its figure in for them to come up with 125.

Aug 22 (Reuters) - Walt Disney (DIS.N) said in a court filing on Friday that it has garnered $125 million in online revenue from the Marvel superhero film "Black Widow"

In normalcy BW should have been more profitable than SC so...

even in this enviroment bw being a theatrical exlusive and released in china it probably would have made 700-800 mill..but oh well...hopefully shang chi holds well and opens in china too..that way  it can reach a bigger overall gross...

To be fair, BW's higher budget can't be blamed on PA.

the point is that if the movie was theatrical exlusive even with that budget it could be more successfull than it is now.....
