Hope you like it enough to read at least DUNC Messiah after. I think Villeneuve will adapt that one after DUNC II. He said he would love to.

So... how much are we all willing to bet this gets put into turnaround by the end of the year, if not outright binned? Zaslav is not fucking around, and that should leave us, the children of Arrakis, worried.

The movie is safe. Discovery is not messing with such a prestigious film.

Hopefully due to Legendary funding 75% of the cost of the film that won't be the case, at worst I can see it shifting to another studio (along with Legendary's entire distribution deal) Apple would likely be the front runner given they have green lighted a Monsterverse TV show and have the $$$ that the rest of Hollywood is struggling to find right now.

WB IS NEVER GONNA MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE AGAIN!

DUNC II is WB's Oscar favorite for 2024 awards. It's also second movie in what they hope to become a franchise. Villeneuve is interested in at least one more, DUNC Messiah. They didn't cast some big names that have limited roles in first 2 movies for show. Thier roles grow in Messiah and beyond.

I'm not sure how the cancellation of two direct to streaming films has lead to unnecessary freaking out over Dune Part II. The correlation isn't there.

cause everyone loves a good villain and Zaslav is the new villain everyone loves to hate. Therefore if he cancelled DUNC II we would have achieved Thanos level. 🍹
