How is Crawdads tracking?

With Thor looking to underwhelm and likely drop next weekend, the only 2 wide releases are  Crawdads and Paws of Fury. Wondering if it could overperform given the book's popularity and lack of major releases against it. Or it's an adult programmer that opens a bit low and holds on? ...or maybe it just flops

Thor: Love and Thunder, counted today at 10am EST for Thursday, July 7:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 834 (15 showtimes, 2 true Sell Outs where I'm pretty sure that I added the right numbers because the cinema halls were the same)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 1.598 (28 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 434 (11 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 229 (9 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 484 (12 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16):
1.547 (28 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 2.717 (45 showtimes, all-time record in my theaters!)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 7.843.
Comps: TSS (4.1M from previews) had on Tuesday for Thursday 1.089 sold tickets = x7.2 = 29.5M (and no day and date release),

SC (8.8M from previews) had on Wednesday = 1 day later 3.166 sold tickets = 21.8M and 1 day left so not under 25M+.
And this comp is rather for fun: TGM had 2.864 sold tickets on Tuesday for Thursday which would mean over 50M from previews for Thor. Of course the walk-up situation is different here.

Yesterday my comps weren't good and today they're worse :). Still, that presale number for Thor is very good. I can't complain. That's e.g. only 1k tickets below NWH (8.8k) with 4 days left (on Wednesday for Sunday). And films of that genre with already so many sold tickets don't have big jumps over the last few days, normally around 15% per day.
Of course the many showtimes at the AMC Universal helped but OTOH enough other films also had plenty of showtimes but many nearly empty shows.

Tomorrow and/or on Thursday I will count both the Friday and Sunday of Thor (with Spidey and Dr. Strange 2 comps). Depends on how busy I am.

they posted about it.

The tracking is similar to Black Phone at the same point.

I'm the only person who cares, but Super Pets has showtimes popped up at Cinemarks, with yet another 2 PM preview start time. @EmpireCity have any word on when tickets for that will drop?

July 12th I believe

Good news is DS comp went up. Bad news is its still way below DS in sales. Expectation from Charlie was Thor would go ahead of DS2 today as it has 1 weekday short this week.

Wednesday was a weak day for DS2 at Denver. Let us see if Thor goes ahead.

For some reason the marathon showing at Megaplex is under a business date of Wednesday, so I never picked it up until now. That's why the Thursday increase is only 869, I didn't count the marathon showing as new tickets sold. Also removed the Top Gun comp. It was never that great of a comp anyways, but the overperformance here is really showing.

Thor has even weaker reviews than DS2. It can make up some ground with overall PS being well below but I doubt the trend will be drastically better.

At this point i'm more than fine with Charlie low end.

28M and low 150M OW and i'm happy, all things considered.

Let's just hope this time people will like it and legs will be decent.

Thor just cannot seem to separate much from the path Strange took to the finish line, and time is just running out for it to do so. Only slightly above where one would have expected given that final week trajectory:

Denver = 7,853 vs 7,937

Megaplex =8,467 vs 8,570 [Thu only]

Drafthouse = 18,887 vs 19,083

If pattern holds, Alpha would be expected to land at 328-329K with update later tonight (CC @ZackM)

Megaplex and Drafthouse aren't that much better. At least at Drafthouse it already is at a good shape. Let us see how wednesday goes now.

I think based on data seen, MTC1 will be sub 30K for today. But its tricky to extrapolate from just 1 market for across the country. So we have to wait for @ZackM update.

IMO Charlie's low end is optimistic as well. Let us wait for MTC1 data.
