Black Adam looks... concerning. I really think it wont go above a 50M OW. The release date is quite bad too.

Don’t have time for a full count but WF is definitely selling closer to Thor then MOM at the theatres around me. Black adam is better then morbius but I’m not sure what that even means lol, I don’t really have any other comps I can use for BA until closer to release. 
 

I owe a lot of you guys a bunch of likes. I’m renovating my place and between work and school for the kids I just haven’t had time to do much else(or even look in here). Hoping things slow down by the end of November.

It’s gonna have to get good wom to push it to a decent number I think. And I agree with you about the release dates, the two previous dates it had were much better. They should of just released this in August of this year but I guess vfx weren’t done.

I think MTC1 data is not bad but let us see how things go. After the 1st day fan burst real action will be around when reactions/reviews come out. Question is would Disney hold reviews until final week or allow them to come out earlier hoping them to be close to 1st one is the question?

 

1st update from @ZackM for Thor was T-18. So BP2 has 20 days to catch up. Let us see how things go.

I guess a lot of superhero fans decided to get their Black Adam tickets on a whim after getting those Black Panther tickets? And as an aside, while I admit I haven't been paying close attention to other people's data, so I could be missing something, but these ticket sales for Black Adam seem fine? Outside of a couple outliers high and low, things are pointing to high single digits, which like...okay, not an amazing opening, but doesn't indicate some Morbius-style disaster like people are now handwringing themselves over. Feel like I'm missing something.

I admit I am speaking from somebody who is expecting a decline from the opening weekend for a variety of reasons (not an invitation to argue with me by the by), but this does seem a touch soft for an area that will possibly overindex (though it does seem the overindexing for Black-led movies in Philly is starting to lose steam? Woman King and Nope seemed pretty normal last I remember). I will say however I do think it's important to remember that this has a much larger pre-sales window compared to everything else, which makes it imperfect to give true comparisons. Hence why I included Dominion, which is the best example for a film with a super long presale window.

 

Still, I'm sure once I post this that I'll have a million meltdowns and temper tantrums in this thread I'll have to wake up to. Ohhhhhh joy.

Gonna join the consensus and say this does seem like a somewhat soft start. 

 

But!!!! 

 

But, this is 38 days out, which is the longest pre-sale run for a Marvel movie in quite some time.  As such, much like JW:D, it'll have quite a while to gain on these movies before we get to the three-week or so away period.

 

Still, ngl, am somewhat surprised it wasn't a stronger launch.  That being said, this is more of a marathon run than many Marvel movies, so do try to keep that in mind, m'kay?

The soft start is only natural after how polarizing ths last couple of movies have been. Of course people are going to be more apprehensive. If the reviews are on par with the first Black Panther, it should recover with ease.
