Guys, it's only been 90 minutes. And honestly, I don't remember any crashes for Strange and Thor, but the warning bells weren't being rung there. So why do it now? Please relax, because the universe doesn't need this annoying Monday morning quarterbacking.

Actually looking at the November/December schedule, if Strange World ends up being a nonstarter (possible), there's a solid chance that Black Panther will repeat the run of its predecessor with five weeks at #1 with how barren the schedule is (the most high-profile release between Thanksgiving and Avatar is the "David Harbour is Badass Santa" movie).

And despite that, it still ended up where it did. The whole point here was that a lot of people were prematurely declaring that Black Adam was doing better than Morbius. Sure, it's likely to do better if it doesn't get the same dogshit WOM, but it has had a start that is more or less similar to Morbius, or perhaps a bit weaker.

Finally figured out who runs this Snyder account, can’t hide anymore @Menor Reborn

If it ends up domestic around Doctor Strange 2 or even near Thor: LaT, this would be hella disappointing.

No T'challa might be the reason. Also multiverse of madness has damaged MCU a lot imo, people were so hyped for multiverse but they got nothing out of that. They shouldn't have used word Multiverse in the subtitle.

They got nothing according to who? If you really think MOM damaged anything in the long run then i suggest you look again

Looks like with 2 back-to-back CBM's coming out we now must suffer the influx of new accounts with BS takes for the next two months - like back in the pre-pandemic days.

I'll see you guys when Avatar 2 drops.

So after 2 months of nothing worthwhile to track, we have the next MCU biggie. Let us see how things go. I hope @ZackM can get something to work as I cannot get anything to work when a big movie opens. Just cursory glance at few big theaters/screens at MTC1/2 is showing huge release for WF. I hope @katnisscinnaplex will post an update on how wide the release is and any comps with NWH or DS2. My quick check it to be the biggest release at least at MTC1. Ticket sales wise prime time Dolby/Imax are near sellouts at usual big theaters but otherwise it seems quieter than even DS2. But let us give it few days to extrapolate its data.

Harkins in first 3 hours, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

2358/89305 (358 showings)

Around par Thor 4 in key locs. Full day can be around 6-7K. Good start.

Need to remember, 35% of Black Panther weekend was from African American demo as compared to normal 15% ish. For other demos BP opening was ~$155M ish, having great reviews and Pre-Infinity War buzz.

Regions with heavy Black population like Philly will likely over-index and others under-index.

There is no queuing as well. I would say that means the theater chains have improved their infrastructure. It does not make sense to queue customers at all. NWH was absolute nightmare and DS2 queued for a long time at MTC1 as well.

Anyway, for those who have it locally looks like the Black Panther Double Feature starts at Noon.

I say “for those who have it” as at first blush, it’s only at one theater locally.

It's.... interesting you say that, as I'm now getting constant 431 errors on Fandango as I try to grab seat maps.  I suspect it's either some sort of hidden flood control or much more likely, shitty HTML coding, as even normally I've been recently getting a slight pause between checking shows.  And I suspect there's some sort of caching errors going on between shows from that pause.

Only work around I've found is to refresh the landing page I have for all shows EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

This keeps up, I might have to be forced to check my chains individually.  Which would not make me happy.  At All.

(and, no Jat, Atom isn't really a great option for me)
