Though also better than Venom 2 but Venom 2 sales trajectory was weird and it's better to just ignore them. I can see $8M+ previews quite easily given Shang Chi over indexed in Alpha and Canada, but will go $7-8M for now as IDK if non-CBM crowd will be that keen on it ike Venom, it's a new character and not Tom Hardy.

There isn't. Morbius did have a higher day 1 than SC in MTC2. It fell off the pace quickly.

Morbius did 5.7 after turning out to be one of the shiftiest CBMs in a decade and having the lack of effective NWH connection spoiled. 7-8 after d1 seems quite reasonable.

At quick glance, it seems like ticket sales are doing pretty well.

 

Is a $50 million OW possible? Less competition, IMAX (and other PLF's) and being marketed as the big finale.
