I thought you were joking about the screening alltogether. Did it really start screening?

Yup! In LA last night. I dont have an affinity for hyper-masculine torture poem or Leonardo Dicaprio and want a clear path for homeboy DOR to sweep. That being said, I loved Birdman and Lubezki is a genius. I would never actively start rumors for the sake of taking this down.

I got a real reaction. It sounds like a home run and probably Innaritu's best film. This reaction was a total rave and even said it had a lot of narrative heft.

SOO excited!!

I do think though, that Joy will win

But I'd be happy for Revenant as well.

When does Joy screen??

@MichaelNotCera: Early word THE REVENANT. Being described as scenic porn (shocker) & "Apocolypto meets Cast Away meets the end of The Lord of the Flies"

This seems like a mess. I'm not sure those three entities can live together. I don't like Apocolypto or Cast Away but I'm sure this is underselling the film.

@MichaelNotCera: THE REVENANT described as harrowing story that's imerssed into a realm of relentless barbaric violence that complements the story very well

@MichaelNotCera: Also, interesting.... THE REVENANT actually contains a lot more dialogue than you would expect considering the narrative

Let's just hope it's not as self-indulgent as Birdman.

Birdman.

An incredibly directed movie with amazing performances. A film I recognize as really well done...

But it's about a bunch of fucking narcissists who I have zero interest in watching 2 hours of movie about. Did t like. But still...respected.

Fortunately this movie has a story that is interesting. I'm more optimistic, cause Innarutu is the most successful director at making movies I see real talent in, yet don't like. Hoping this is the one that delivers on all fronts, it's certainly got a more enticing story than that one.
