US movies with higher theatrical revenues from a single non US country than US revenues themselves

Seeing how good Titanic rerelase is doing in China I got an idea to do a list of films from US which did a better business in a single foreign country than in US.
Any ideas?

Austrian movie Die Klavierspielerin from 2001 for example sold 98'000 tickets in Austria, 690'000 in France, 260'000 in Germany and so on. Sold 2 million tickets overall and not even 100'000 in Austria.

but presumably that's because you have the entire German market nearby?! in the same way, I can think of quite a few English movies that made more money in the US than in the UK... I'm trying to think of French examples, but I'm coming short. Only The Artist comes to mind. I guess the key is having a much bigger, same-language market, which we don't have. My entry for the thread was going to be Cronenberg's Crash (made more in France), but I just remembered that it was a Canadian movie. Dammit.

In the other thread we found an Austrian comedie with a former ski star (Toni Sailer) that was seen by 33.4 million Sowjets. I think the Tall Blond With One Black Shoe was only a minor french success but a giant success in Germany that made Pierre Richard famous.

I think it's close, MM did around $120m in the US if I remember.

i think a lot of people forget how big Mamma Mia was. it was the 5th biggest film worldwide of 2008, beating things like iron man, quantum of solace, wall-e, sex and the city, etc
