What in the $5 Walmart bin hell is this shit?

The AMC that's about 20 miles away has this on a screen with 36 seats, which seems about right if you're going to bother with a masterpiece like Unfavorable Odds.  My closest AMC put this in a 150ish seat auditorium! How does that even happen, they even have Top Gun: Maverick in a smaller room at this point. We got Prey and Thirteen Lives straight to streaming this summer, but there’s room for Boogievision originals in theaters. Amazing...

At this point, anything is gravy for TGM and its 16th weekend was still good for all-time top 10. I don't have to tell you which wide release claims the spot, of course TITANIC is still the King. It's kinda crazy that both the juggernaut ship and TGM still in 3000+ theatres.

We actually have 3 Cruise films in the top 10 and two of them are on the podium!!  RAIN MAN pops up second place and TOP GUN enjoying its LD boost. This marks the first time the original outgrossed MAVERICK.

The rest of the top 10 involves familiar players, with TOOTSIE climbing to the top 10. for the fist time

Special mention for HOME ALONE still slaying it in March!

Woof, that lack of depth hurts the total 😬 not that its unsurprising but still painful. Nice increase some though.

**ignores the drop for TGM....

TGM was coming off a PLF re-release, Cinema Day and Labor Day inflated weekend, plus competing for eyeballs with NFL OW. It’s only down 34% from 2 weeks ago, which is a -18% weekly rate of decline, and probably holds better than that next weekend

Something crazy about the upcoming weekend...

There's going to be a lot of new movies coming out this weekend. Depending on where you are, you may get up to seven new releases:

Clerks III (Regal Cinemas special showings)

Moonage Daydream

Pearl

Running the Bases (Christian baseball film)

See How They Run

The Silent Twins

The Woman King

I list these out to say that all of these films coming in means that a lot of films are essentially being pushed out the door. Just with the theater I'm working at, there's a huge list of films being cut this weekend including:

Elvis

Minions: The Rise of Gru

- Thor: Love and Thunder

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

 - Beast

Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.

Gigi & Nate

Jaws (reissue)

Beautiful Blue Eyes (Regal special event)

Medieval

And I still have to see if any of

DC League of Super-Pets

Lifemark

Where the Crawdads Sing

might also be leaving the theater. So I see some harsh drops in theater counts happening across the board this weekend!

Amazing job, as always, thanks. For the lovers of these kind of stats is a treasure.
Few more we can say about TGM, looking at this list is like a time travel, all movies with at least 30 years old, except TGM and of course the monster of monsters. When some time pass and we´ll check this run, we´ll be still more amazed with these feats has achieved.
Let´s see now if it´s able to stay in the top 10 for 20 weekends, will be difficult, but i think is the next possible goal.
