Nah, at least not historically speaking when you look at the Veterans Day holiday. Friday is a significantly higher % of the weekend in this case. Could it? Sure, but not likely. Today will be a wash versus the big increases of past weekends.

Just saw the movie. Cinema here in the Philippines was a third full on Sat night. Sadly, many people here still haven't returned to the theater having gotten used to waiting for films on Streaming. 

 

I liked the movie. I wanted to love it more but that's on me for setting my expectations too high.

As someone who feels that Black Panther 2 squandered almost all of the marketing and potential it had after the first trailer, 180m would be very impressive.

Wouldn't say that. BA is certainly not doing great. It is not doing bad either. Decent overall tally. People need to find the middle ground sometimes, which is difficult for some users, people like to glorify and bury films. THOR was a great example as well. Its domestic run was ok. BA is doing ok as well.

I really thought Fabelmans would have opened higher. But then again, it didn't have benefit of filmmaker Q&As to boost the numbers. Field, Blanchett, McDonagh all did screenings.

 

Still, not a promising sign for the speciality market. LA is truly missing the Arclight

BA's problem is $200M budget, with $200M budget it will need $500M to break even.
