Does it? Seems more like 50/50 to me, maybe 60/40 in favor of under.

I'm using R1 as a base.

R1 jumped 56% on FRI, 11M for A2 would be an 62% jump, so a bit better.

I'm just extrapolating the whole weekend using R1 as minimum reference, R1 jumped 57% on SAT (which would put A2 at 17.4)

Then SUN dropped 32% (which would put A2 at 11.8M)

It would be 40.2M weekend for A2. I can see a bit higher if SAT and SUN goes better than R1 like FRI early estimates. It can go lower as well, but i don't see much reason for that.

A2 would probably be 11-17.5 -12 for 40.5m

11

19.5

12.5

43

this is before applying the SAT/SUN boost from being a 3hr film

should be 45m or so

Could A2 jump to 12-13?

Very possible, those numbers probably don't factor in enough evening walkups. Though I do think the run time makes it a candidate for big Saturday jumps going forward.

A Man Called Otto seems to be doing very well around my area. Not sure of its theater count.

Is the budget for that really $50m? That seems insanely high for a movie like that, especially considering A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood only cost $25m.

Edit: I now see that it's just a medium expansion this week and wide next week I believe

$2.5m from same source, same time -- so same caveats.

Thats kind of low. Could it be that Puss' weekdays were more holiday-inflated than the other movies, it beeing a family/kid-movie? 2,5M would be only a 27,5% increase from Thursday.

I honestly just think they're lowballing most if not all of the estimates.
