Some poor jackass was probably given three weeks to help redesign the app with only a mantra that reads "less scrolling", and these guys are acting like it's armageddon.

The fact that they said it was because HBO Max was migrated to Discovery+ base for building it up makes me think this was always the case on Discovery+, just no one paid attention because who cares who directed 90 Day Fiance.

Credits are all important to writers and directors. It is what your career is based on. You can bet they are going to fight tooth and nail to protect their credits.

Big multi-union solidarity rally in downtown LA right now (WGA, SAG, IATSE, and the Teamsters, I don’t think the DGA’s there in any official capacity but I might be wrong).

So , as suspected, the SAG membership authorizing the strike is pretty much a done deal.

So how long do we see this strike going? Are they planning to return to negotiations soon?

nothing will happen until the actors go on strike at the end of next month , most think there would be a new deal by Fall, but that could be too optimistic

A SAG strike would basically put the entire industry in "shutdown" mode on par with the early days of the pandemic. Get the feeling it wouldn't last more than a day or two because a multi-week strike would have massive financial issues across the industry.

You have to understand that the studio heads WANT the strike and love it. It gives them an excuse to delay if not cancel projects. Already Marvel is using it to push back Thunderbolts. The industry has greenlit too much projects because of the pandemic creating a streaming bubble and now that the bubble has burst they need to rein in their spending.
