Sort of:

WGA '07/'08 Timeline

Feb 8: Tentative Agreement

Feb 10: Board Vote

Feb 12: Membership Vote to lift strike

Feb 26: Ratification of new deal.

Similar to last time:

F61o7a3bAAA8S4_?format=webp&name=largeF61o7a2aAAAGML8?format=webp&name=large

F61o7avakAAOWp-?format=webp&name=largeF61o7a5bMAASrmL?format=webp&name=large

So:

Write the finalized contract

Negotiation Committee and then Board(s) Vote

Vote to Lift Strike

Vote for Ratification or not.

“SAG-AFTRA congratulates the WGA on reaching a tentative agreement with the AMPTP after 146 days of incredible strength, resiliency and solidarity on the picket lines. While we look forward to reviewing the WGA and AMPTP’s tentative agreement, we remain committed to achieving the necessary terms for our members,” said the actors union, which also is striking.

“Since the day the WGA strike began, SAG-AFTRA members have stood alongside the writers on the picket lines. We remain on strike in our TV/Theatrical contract and continue to urge the studio and streamer CEOs and the AMPTP to return to the table and make the fair deal that our members deserve and demand.”

So, the WGA picketing has officially stopped (WGA members could only support SAG picketing).

This means Dancing with the Stars would return without issue.

If Saturday Night Live is under the Network Code (news, talk shows, soaps, game, variety, etc) and not part of the SAG strike, couldn't it also return once the WGA deal is ratified? Guests might still be an issue at first, as they're often movie and TV stars promoting upcoming releases but not always.

Daytime talk shows and late night can return too.
Drew Barrymore looks so stupid in hindsight for not waiting. Lol

😂

Gary Whitta has been a gem throughout the strike, going to miss the unhinged strike version of him but do look forward to hearing about a project he worked on pre strike that is his favourite screenplay he has written so far.

I mentioned this weeks (months??) earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating:

Drew Carey is a Grade A+++ Good Dude. 👍

I'd expect no less from a man who served in the Marine Corps.

SNL should wait until SAG is sorted otherwise they're limited in terms who's available.

I would bet they have sketches that were written for the finale in May that didn't go ahead so they likely have some material banked.

I would imagine SAG will be called in for a meeting either on Tuesday or Wednesday or next week.

The language coming out of the WGA suggests the studios must have caved on quite a lot of things. This would mark a very healthy shift in the power balance in Hollywood.

If true, then good.
