I don't have any good day 1 comps unfortunately.  I started Crawdads at T-11 which had 177 combined at that point.  This should be ahead by then.

Do I dare wonder... $9m combined previews?

Walk ups are going to push this big time. $12.5m incoming.

Walk-ups in the U.K. look pretty decent. Could be better but we’ve got a mini heatwave for a couple of days.

I don’t doubt the legs will be solid for the movie, it’s just a shame it can’t catch a break with its limited time in PLF which best showcases the movie.

The original Twister's opening adjusts to about $80 mil in today's dollars. That'd be a pretty solid result if it could get anywhere close to that.

It was 80% of the fresh opening weekend record at the time. It was much more like a $250 million opener today. It was a huge deal.

What's crazier are the holds it put up for 2nd and 3rd weekends. Went 41-37-37, and it faced Mission Impossible's huge opening on that 3rd weekend. Insanity.

Trap had today counted for Thursday (August 1) 103 sold tickets (with shows in 5 theaters). 14 days left

Comps (all four movies counted on Monday of the release week which means Trap has 11 days left) The Watchers (1M from previews) had 73 sold tickets,

Knock at the Cabin (1.5M) had 303,

Tarot (715k) had 92

and The Strangers: Chapter One (1.2M) had 215 sold tickets.

Abigail (1M) had with 6 days left 97 sold tickets.

And Old (1.5M) had on Monday of the release week for Friday (= 10 days left for Trap to come closer or overtake which will very probably happen) 150 sold tickets.

So overall an ok start. It needs more and bigger cinema halls in California, some are almost full.

So far, two of the most indicative overseas markets like Australia or Mexico, neither are doing good numbers, I wouldn't even call it decent. The initial start at the UK also doesn't look good for Twisters. If Twisters did open to >60m, that would be the most American Sniper kind of BO I've seen in a while. But let's not forget USA is the most tornado prone country in the world, which could explain why the movie about tornadoes also skewing American.

I skimmed some Mexico theaters and it really doesn't seem like Twisters is maintaining interest there, stark contrast between the seating charts on either side of the Rio Grande.

Ghostbusters comp is probably closer to where it's heading than the average, but we'll see. Surprised to see it growing so much against GxK and Bad Boys

Stupidly insanely great day today. Looking like it's gonna be an absolute F5-sized monster here. Not even gonna bother predicting final ranges tomorrow because these numbers are probably stratospheric compared to how it'll actually perform nationwide. Still, far and above what I expected from it.

This is without EA?

Definitely over performing in the midlands as expected then.

It was always going to be hard for it to keep up with Bad Boys as that had absurd late growth. Not seeing enough to convince me this can get to $6M. Probably will stick with $5.5M+

Did not match Bad Boys crazy late growth. Calling it at $6M Thursday previews. So expecting $8.5M total previews. But yeah Florida is definitely not showing anything close to double digits previews
