Not oddly. She always creates competition between movies that seem similar to her. She's stanning Color Purple so since they are both musiclas she wants Wonka to fail even though they target a different audience and can coexist just fine. Never heard of church groups buying theaters for Wonka but OK. She also went into rant against Barbie cause it kicked TLM's ass like nobody's business. Very weird logic. Since both TLM and TCP are remakes maybe that's why, a remake fan or something.

Meh Saturday jump for wonka. At least the VA audience score rise to 91%. Overseas seem to doing good for wonka but this is still gonna be the first year since 2014 a holiday season without 1bn movie (aside from covid year 2020)

Finally watched Priscilla, good movie! And good companion piece to last year’s Elvis. Third act deflates a bit, feels a bit too rushed, but it comes together in a solid closing scene.

 

All the tiktok chatter about Elordi being much better than Butler in the role is dead wrong though. He’s solid as Elvis, but he’s easily outshined by Spaeny in nearly every scene they’re in. Plus the role is a lot less demanding of Elordi than Butler. One of those “the internet has a crush on someone” things lol.

A $1,371 PTA, down only about 11% from last weekend's PTA and still above its opening PTA. Hardly a hit, but getting a 5+ multiplier off of a $1,188 opening PTA is still pretty impressive.
