With school/college back in session, weekend bumps should be stronger this week. Thinking that 10M 4-day for ABY is a definite possibility as long as it doesn’t completely collapse against Mean Girls.

The only reason anyone is saying WB had a "good year" with a straight face is Barbie. Everything else other than Wonka (which was successful but not a super blockbuster) was a disappointment or bomb. So WB did NOT in fact have a "good year".

The money they made from that would've been eclipsed by the Flash bomb alone. The "good WB 2023" stuff overwhelmingly stems from Barbie.

Now, they're not helpless in 2024, but they don't have a Barbie followup slated, so their next success won't be a no-brainer either.

Meg2 tripled its budget. Evil Dead Rise made 8x its budget. The Nun II made 9 times its budget. You stated everything else was a disappointment or a bomb. Thats certainly not the case here

Don't move the goalpost. The Flash bombing doesn't make Evil Dead a flop or disappointment.

Pretty weak Tuesday increases across the board, wonder if more people are going back to work/school as the week goes on?

Lol at the narrative WB didn’t have a great year. DCEU had a terrible year, as was always inevitable. Take that out and WB had an amazing year, TCP cliff dive aside. Creed, Evil Dead, Meg , Nun, Wonka… all very profitable as far as the rest of their slate.

And of course Barbie as likely one of the most profitable films ever off of box office alone easily gives them the W for the year. It’s also a far cry from the past decade of death for them, where they really had been struggling. Add to the fact that they very wisely are killing off the whole DCEU as it is and starting over, and to me their future looks a lot better atm than another major studio that shall remain earless.

They maybe lost in the 400m range from the big Flash, Shazam, Blue Beetle, and TCP bombs, but that’s not terrible at all when you consider the massive amount of profit they likely made this year. They may have made in the vicinity of $1b alone in Barbie profits and then add a solid $600+m or so in profits from their other hits I mentioned.

Compare to Disney where it was one movie making maybe a $300m profit and everything else barely breaking even or bombing spectacularly and you see just how much of a win 2023 was for EB.

This could get ugly now that you mentioned Disney.  For some reason this poster wants Disney and WB to have had "equal years" when it's just not the case.
