Great, point hopefully some of the product placement in the movie offset some of the budget

There was quite a bit of Adidas ads in the film

And some Uniqlo

Also Aston Martin

Yeh Uniqlo, Aston Martin, Nike, Addidas, GatorAde, Wilson. They probably offset a good chunk of the budget with it. But it never felt gratuitious, because they’re playing Tennis so there are sponsors all over the place in real tennis.

Anyone want to talk about the INSANE legs of Dune Part 2, Godzilla x Kong, KFP4, and even Ghostbusters this weekend? The drought of tent poles has really helped the big March releases stick around.

Wasn’t this largely expected back in early April? Anyway figure I’ll quick project som finishes:

Dune 285

GxK 199 ( @Brainbug’s club going down to the wire, Apes weekend probably makes or breaks it)

KFP 195

GBFE 115

The First Omen passed $50m at least, glad international audiences are showing up for it in some way.

Back to Black already has $16m too. Most of it from here in the UK of course.

The delusional doom and gloom here is just hilarious throughout this April. Going to certainly be funny to look back in 1 year from now when theaters will be running as usual (even it there needs to be some screens adjustment before or after), schedule will be normal and stronger and coming off of a strong 2nd half of 2024.

The lack of actually thinking before posting here goes crazy here.

We live in a highly fragmented world, it’s not just streaming, it’s the entertainment and all business now. Nearly everything popular these days are huge with some groups and irrelevant or a joke to others. It’s just the way things are.

For better and for worse, the internet has divided us in smaller groups than ever before. Not sure anyone has foreseen that when the internet started becoming popular.

Oh well, meh weekend, could've been worse though, and hey at least this thread has seen some traffic, even if the content is...questionable.

In the end, 15M is a respectable gross for Zendaya. It's her first headlined film. Veterans like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck could only do 14M with Air last year. This is the new reality of the box office

I wasn't aware that the film "Air" was marketed as heavily as Challengers.
