Another critic broke the embargo. Not a huge fan of what he said about the horror element (skimmed right to it) but I was never going to be frightened by this anyway. I just hope they got the atmosphere right.

This critic also mentions the same thing about Stanley that someone said previously..

Consensus:
"‘IT’ is quite extraordinary. The layered story, the drama, the comedy, the emotional horror, the amazing characters, the brilliant direction, and the fantastic acting make this film one surely worth your time. This is a smart movie. The creators have clearly thought through what they want to do with this production and have actually managed to do it. The complexity and smart direction of this re-imagining of the original classic make it even better than its predecessor. With so many bad or overrated films to have come out this summer, ‘IT’ was truly a fresh and wonderful experience."

Total: 8.5/10

Also found out the embargo is set for 9/6 - 2 AM ET (So late tomorrow night - pretty sure that's very close to what Wonder Womans was)

Nah, Wonder Woman's embargo was late Monday night.

That is has late as it can possibly be I guess, it start rolling out the 6 in some market, the 7th in major English market like Australia (and I imagine with the time zone, they are playing when it is the 6th in the US)

USA 5 September 2017 (Los Angeles, California) (premiere)
Belgium 6 September 2017 (Kinepolis)
Germany 6 September 2017 (Fantasy Filmfest)

Just to correct you. It was even lower. I predicted 60/130/420.

As for IT, I will make my prediction according to the conjuring 2. I predict   40/100/300. I welcome all kinds of challenges.

I'm curious why you are predicting that good of a 33% / 66% domestic/foreign split for a movie like IT ?

No King adaptation reached 60% ever before (at least in the big enough to be listed by mojo):

IT/serial killer clown skew American a lot and it's a crazy amount of domestic buzz, why would it be the most foreign skewed of King filmography with the current exchange rate ? Does not seem to have a China release planned either. Not sure how big of a phenomenom it is easy outside the anglo-saxon world.

Split did 50/50, I would expect much more than 100m dbo if it is to reach 300m WW.

It has a higher chance at making your predicted domestic total on OW.

I didn't say that comment. Why does it say I did? Weird.

It'll be funny when WB's fall releases break out just to see reactions (i.e. IT does $200M+, Ninjago and Blade Runner does $150M+.).

When Kevin stans against a WB film, it does better than expected so $80m OW here we come!

"a 33% / 66% domestic/foreign split for a movie like IT"   just take a look at the DOM/FOREIGN split of WB recent horror movies and you will know why. (i.e. the conjuring 1/2  Annabelle 1/2)

"No King adaptation reached 60% ever before"  You should not follow previous King adaptation records. They are no use for IT. As King adaptions are too varied in genres, there is not a pattern to it.

I selected that part of the text from your message and pressed quote it, I imagine the system is not advanced enough to realize that you were quoting someone.

It is a R rated horror film. Not a R rated superhero movie (Deadpool). Not a R rated pseudo softcore porn (50 shades of Grey).

And before those examples was there precedence for similar grosses coming from similar movies (both rated R and same genre).

Those do seem more INTL heavy to me:

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?cat=3&date=today 5-y&q=%2Fm%2F012m5vyh,%2Fm%2F0_lmjt2,%2Fg%2F1pwf7_9rd,%2Fm%2F01nxb_

But you are right:

43.2% 32.0% 32.8% 35.6%

That is what WB achieved to do with is big title post The Conjuring.

3 of the last 4 were horror, 2 of those R-rated and one a big classic like Carrie.
