The Official TASM Weekly Thread (6 Day EST-140m) (Warning: Whiten Out Spoilers/Spoiler Tags)

Recommended Posts

Can someone clarify what's going on with the numbers? What's the situation with Sony fudge?

They're all over the map. It's so confusing that no one can really answer this question. They reported $35M yesterday. Then, RTH said between 23-24M today. He revised his numbers at 6 AM to be 22.5- 23 M. Then, Sony reported numbers for today and revised them twice. Plus, Sony says that yesterday was actually $35.8M because they forgot to count some theaters in Canada. No one can really pin down what the truth is.

So let's recap here:First Spiderman 3 made 7.5 mill at midnight, not 10Then ASM made 35 mill ODThen it made 23 on the 4thThen OD now is 35.85 mill because they "forgot" to Puerto Rico the Monday sneaks from CanadaThen the number on Wed dropped to 22.75 minutes later they found more money, presumably from a bunch of cash laying on floors in some theater is Anchorage, Juneau, the one theater on the Baffin Islands and the island of Oahu, and now the gross is 23.4.Am I missing anything here?

Here you go adim

I'm not sure either. Someone explain.

We had 35M Tuesday number than like TF2 that number got changed with previews from Canada. It wasn't like Sony rushed to give us numbers instead they waited so changing it upwards a full day after is a bit laughable. It's not as bad as TF2 because that gained millions but it's still pretty bad.New Tuesday number is 35.85M.

what number does ASM need to do today that is considered "Good"?

If yesterday's number is truly an anomaly, and today is a market correction, then I think dropping less than 20% would be good.....only basing it on the big 30%+ drops in 2007.

If sony makes pre midnight shows count towards 35.85 for tuesday then so should the 8.5 million for monday night for transformers 1 bringing its tuesday tally to 36.1 and the new record holder for tuesday besting tasm

BOG: With big TUE-WED drop for #AmazingSpiderMan $130M 6-day opening no longer guaranteed. May fall in $125-135M range.

Where did you read this? Twitter?

So let's see here, possible fudging of $800,000 on Tuesday and $700,000 on Wednesday? From $35m to $35.8m on Tuesday and from $22.7m to $23.4m on Wednesday? Pretty damn bad. TF2 was fudged $1.8m on a $198.2m 5-day opening. Sony has already fudged Spidey by $1.5m after only two days and $57.7m, wow.

50M/125M is a good target for the 3-day/6-day.

Looks like MTC tracking nailed TASM.

Sony would like you to know that even with counting pre midnights, TF1 only made $33.6M.

I don't remember TF's opening week being this much of a clusterfuck.

It wasn't. Sony is re-writing history and Puerto Rico the Wednesday and Tuesday numbers the most they can.
