Does the characters in the video game have love interests or is it just Hollywood being Hollywood ?

Depends on the game.

The first one: no.

The second one: not really. Just implies that Ezio and another character are comrades with benefits at one point.

Haven't played any of the others.

They do sometimes have love interests. Unfortunately, because of the way the series is structured, there are very few recurring characters - they switch protagonists every 1 or 2 games, and the supporting characters are completely different each time. The movie will probably feature a brand new story, so I don't think it's much of an issue.

Eventually one of these will be the "Raimi's Spider-Man or Singer's X-Men" of video game adaptations and the floodgates will open.

I wonder how many studios have tried for the Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto rights.

I could see a one-two punch in 2016 with Warcraft and Assassin's Creed doing well. Probably closer to an X-Men success level than Spidey
