I hated this when I saw it 4 years ago. And I've railed against it since. I think I'm going to give it another shot soon though.

There's a lot of people who place WALL-E and Ratatouille at the bottom of their Pixar lists. That makes me sad. They're two of the most emotionally resonant and creatively inspired movies I've seen.

I'm the opposite. Wall-E is at the top while Ratatouille is near the bottom. I take no pleasure in that ranking, though. It really bothers me that I can't connect with Ratatouille like everyone else seems to. And believe me, I've tried many times.

Wall-E is a very entertaining and pretty film; the exceptional thing about it is of course the first sequence which depends on pantomime and patience. Doing a blockbuster as (kind of) a silent movie had to be considered a big risk, so kudos to Pixar for having the balls to do it right. It's also pretty nostalgic, reminding us of Luxo jr.Still, only a B from me because after the incredible start on earth the story gets by-the-numbers; the whole space ship sequence is a bit bland. I would rather watch Wall-E's and Eve's shenanigans on old earth for a while longer but that's just me I guess.

I agree, it's arguably my favorite Pixar film and an A+ from me.

Supposedly they're planning on converting this to 3D after they do Nemo and Monsters Inc. This would be one of the few films I would actively want to see in the format.

The fact that they're not converting Incredibles to 3D reveals how little interest they have in a sequel without Bird's involvement. I'd love to see WALL-E on the big screen too.

Watching this movie was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Yes, I mean it. And no, my life doesn't suck. This movie was just THAT good.

[Plain Old Tele]

I've rewatched this like 17 times in the last couple weeks (no joke, it's Tele Jr's new favorite movie of all time), and I'm all the more convinced that it's a brilliant movie. It's just a masterpiece of visual storytelling, so efficient and effortless at how it conveys information, ideas, character, and emotion.
