Lordmandeep
Well the previews throws things off. If this was the midnight number you could have reasonably said IM3 is heading for 170 + million. However with the previews as of now only 150 million is assured. However considering this is a marvel film, I think Iron Man 3 is heading to a huge weekend gross. This is not Breaking Dawn people. Hatebox
Hmm, considering showings started at 9 pm that Seems low We should strive to call them 'previews' rather than 'midnights' now.
VGPOP
IM3 will probaby end n#3 or n#4 in all time opening weekends ever (unadjusted of course)
Lordmandeep
Hmm, considering showings started at 9 pm that Seems low True but this is IM3 not TDKR... Marvel films previews were never really big. Anyways 150 million is assured so no IM2 meltowns are coming... Thank god.... Edited May 3, 2013 by Lordmandeep

FTF
We should strive to call them 'previews' rather than 'midnights' now. I would say many of us do call them previews and not midnights, as Gitesh's posts do. Edit: actually he just says THU night Edited May 3, 2013 by FTF
Hatebox
Did anyone make a IM3 over TDKR OW club? That may have been interesting.
kayumanggi
How does BOM or BO.com report these numbers? I mean is everything 3-day?
Gopher
Consistent with Notfabio's report that IM3 previews were 15% less than Avengers'. I'm curious what this means for today. I'm anticipating mid 60s OD.
filmnerdjamie
To think studios whined about WB "cheating" including the 10 PM screenings into their first day grosses for Superman Returns and now its the norm.
#ED
Did anyone make a IM3 over TDKR OW club? That may have been interesting.I did. A mod deleted it and made his own thread. -_-Either way this should make more than TDKR only because of the 3D.

Heretic
Definitely don't see this doing below $150m now. Honestly, the 'Avenger's effect' has shocked me so far. I never thought it'd be so pronounced, especially OS.
filmnerdjamie
Consistent with Notfabio's report that IM3 previews were 15% less than Avengers'. I would have thought those would have been higher than this time. "The Avengers bump" we kept hearing about. Still a great number.
Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted May 3, 2013 Author Founder / Operator Share Posted May 3, 2013 that's not too bad a number....i guess , how does it ranked compare to similar film? It doesn't. That's the trick here, heh. No Marvel movie has opened wide at 9pm before midnights. For that matter, no real blockbuster has in awhile.
