Kind of disappointing after the huge opening but all things considered (avoiding a third movie drop, and IM2's bad WOM plus the huge OS gross) it's a pretty respectable performance overall. We know it won't turn out to be true, but these studio executives don't necessarily know the in's and out's of it as well as we do so they will make those kind of statements occasionally.
