They were 4 or 5 writers under the leadership of Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman.

I'll say this: I completely forgot he did The Patriot. I guess it's his best or 2nd best movie alongside ID4, though I haven't seen it in years.

 

I don't mind Stargate either, but I certainly don't love it. Never saw Universal Soldier. Day After Tomorrow is somewhat fun to watch, but way too stupid for me to call it anything close to good (same for 2012). I also don't hate White House Down, even though it is completely idiotic and a total Die Hard clone, but it is kinda fun (far from good too, though).

WHD was god awful overpriced boring action movie that tried to make channing tatum the LEAD action hero and failed spectacularly.

 

OHF was simple but bloody effective movie. The sequel though...was god awful.
