War For The Planet Of The Apes | July 14, 2017 | First Trailer on Page 18

Recommended Posts

Both of the movies in this recent Apes franchise are quite the triumph. Tell a good story. Do it in a way that embraces the concept, not running the callbacks and cliches into the ground. And find mega success.

Hollywood, please...THIS...is how it's done.

The recent Apes movies are very different in tone with the original series.

Both Apes movies are excellent movies in their own right, found new

audience and paid complement to the original fans

July 2017 is an insane month in general.

I agree.

Universal has Kong, Fast 8, Despicable Me 3, 50 Shades 2, Mummy Reboot

Fox has Apes 3, Fantastic 2, Wolverine, Croods 2, Maze Runner 3

Warner has Justice League 1, Wonder Woman, Untitled DC (Aquaman?), Untitled Nolan, Geostorm (intriguing),

Ready Player One (!), 2 Lego movies?

Sony has Dark Tower (!), Bad Boys 3, Barbie (wtf?), Uncharted, Spider-Man, Get Smurfy, Equalizer 2

Paramount has...World War Z sequel, and a possible Terminator sequel.

Disney has Episode 8, Guardians 2, Pirates 5, Cars 3, Beauty & the Beast, Fall Animation Untitled, Thor Ragnarok

Disney takes the crown of 2017, likely.

Rupert Wyatt wanted to stretch out the time periods to tell how the apes became the dominant species.

Fox just wanted a series of Caesar centric stories.

While I enjoyed Dawn I can't help to wonder what Wyatt's version would'very been like.

Probably a grander scale with stronger science fiction.
