Rupert Wyatt wanted to stretch out the time periods to tell how the apes became the dominant species.

Fox just wanted a series of Caesar centric stories.

While I enjoyed Dawn I can't help to wonder what Wyatt's version would'very been like.

Probably a grander scale with stronger science fiction.

That does sound kind of awesome. An epic story of ape history.

Would've been interesting.

Instead we got...a great movie.

So...whatever.

There's always the second trilogy.

This franchise isn't going anywhere.

I'll watch this trilogy and that one.

Then think about a third and fourth version.

Maybe they can have one where the apes are smart enough to build artificial intelligence to help them build utopia.

Really it's probably a smarter idea to tell the story at a slower pace. Jumping from Caesar as a child/young man to Caesar as an old man or even dead doesn't make for good franchise-building.

Just finished watching all the Ape sequels. Dawn of the Apes was basically a remake of Battle for Planet of the Apes. I would say they are equally good

battle is the worst one so hard. terrible movie. the 50p budget doesn't help. conquest is the best sequel. maybe rivals the first for me. rad movie.

Besides Beneath I think the other 3 sequels are all around the same in quality. Nothing comes close to the first one for me though, thats classic.

I really like Escape, it makes me all emotional. Battle is legit awful, Conquest is not too far behind. Beneath is all right.
