Interesting how this forum eats up the garbage Marvel sharts out every few months, embracing it all including Dr Strange, but is suddenly developing a moral compass when it comes to GITS...

The visuals are really cool and it has aesthetics that I prefer in a cyber punk/futuristic/techno thriller movie. But this is from the wife cheater who directed Snow White and Huntsman, which also had cool visuals, but rest of the movie sucked.

 

I should watch the animated movie to see what the deal is about..

 

I would say next year has lots of cool sci fi films offering different flavours. The more the merrier.

Eh, based off that trailer, the action and story looks like it might suck. Very much a "skip" for me.

While the animated movie is good its the TV series which is great.

I thought it looked boring/derivative at first but after seeing the trailer I must say -- color me intrigued.

 

Definitely looks to have some uniqueness to it, loving those holograms all around the city.

While you're being a bit harsh, I get what you saying. This movie wouldn't make money with an unknown asian actress in the lead role, while Doctor Strange didn't have that excuse. In fact, Marvel is so popular now they could do a movie with an unknown asian actor as the lead and still make a lot of money. That's how you solve the problem and create more diverse movie stars with worldwide appeal. To be fair though, they are giving solo movies to a female superhero and a black superhero, and that's very positive.

I don't get this white-washing argument - it's a hollywood production. They bought IP and can adapt it the way they want. And after all the main priority is to actually make money so what.
