While we wait for Avatar II - it looks like there's some serious progress being made on The Abyss - Blu Ray.

This was posted by Skip Kimball (search IMDB for long list of credits incl. Avatar and Alita)

Pretty awesome but where's Aliens in glorious 4K? I want my James Cameron movie collection all in 4K. Get on with it!

Aliens can wait let them focus on getting The Abyss in a HD format, finally. I'm sure Aliens will get the 4K treatment soon just like Alien.

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall listening to the poor sap who had to approach Jim with the request to provide Bob Iger and his team with some **"new"** Avatar footage for his annual dog and pony show (Annual Shareholders Meeting). Did he say "no problem we'll give you something" OR was it WTF!!! the deal isn't closed yet and already they're making demands, if we do this make sure that NO ONE films it, shoot them on sight.

I’m the most curious and excited on how the underwater scenes will look. Probably be one of the few movies I see in 3D like I did with Alita.

underwater scene in Alita was good.

It seems to me JC spent an awful amount of time, money and ressources for something people don't care a lot for ?

Underwater scenes you can somehow feel while watching a movie ?

I dunno ...
