Even with the Avatar sequels I'm not certain we'll see a run like Titanic's ever again.

Titanic was the GOAT box office run.

Titanic scale run today would be over 5 billies.

Aiming for 4 billies rn

still didn't understand the Black Panther Domestic box office run ...   it was truly mind-blowing though

Perfect timing and lightning in a bottle. It's a really easy film to watch as well. I loved the villain as well.

"No cultural impact". I think I'll take scientific immortalisation over some basement dweller wearing a t-shirt with a face on it.  :Gaga:

1. Masha and the bear has a big reference to avatar

2.Simpsons has an avatar intro

3.Titanfall2 is heavly inspired by avatar

4. Anthem is heavily inspired by avatar

5. Whenever someone posts something about luminescene (animals, plants) online, first comments are about avatar

And many more.

Not sure I would say 'heavily inspired' for those two.  Some inspirations, sure, but not THAT much.

Please tell me you're being purposefully dense Wang. Any one with any knowledge knows that many games, including the two listed, take massive inspiration from Aliens, of which much of the tech in Avatar is also derived from as they're all from the same mind.

No one would claim Starcraft was inspired by Avatar but there's certainly a claim to be made that they share similar design DNA thanks to Aliens.

I wish they'd give Titanic a big full blown re-release, it could easily retake #1.

I really wish that re-releases of classics still has a sizable audience like they did before, so that Titanic can be re-released every few years, like GWTW did, and I'd go watch it every time.

When I watch films like Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, I felt that a lot of the visuals were clearly inspired by Avatar, another example would be Valerian. To a lesser extent even some scenes in sequel HTTYD films, that I'm not as sure, because battles with people riding dragons (or Na'vi riding Banshees) are probably going to look similar regardless.
