Time for a pointless comparison thread of the three summer superhero flicks!  (Guardians of the Galaxy is a comic book space adventure)

Ambition

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 7

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 0

X-Men: Days of Future Past - 10

i actually would give them a couple of points for doing something

bold with gewn stacy's death.

and trying to bring electro to life.

asm2 would get 10/10 in the category of "studio interference".

apparently electro was going to be the major villain with more screen time.

(probably could have taken a darker angle with going more into max's head and his inner conflict.)

green goblin was going to be a surprise twist.

rhino was going to be an end-credits scene.

they decided to change direction both story-wise and marketing wise(revealing everything including the spoiler above)

X-Men: 9.5

Cap 2: 9,0

TASM2: 7.0

I really liked all of these films, but X-men is in a league of its own. The genre combinations in The Winter Soldier were incredibly well executed and I loved the film, but DOFP was on a completely different level for me. Best film of the year followed by Chef imo.

Funny thing about these movies: Hans Zimmer's work for TASM 2 was the least "Zimmer-esque" of the three movies' scores. It was also the best collection of music from any of the three.[/quote

It was incredibly generic.

Thread voting doesn't change that DOFP > Winter Soldier

Sure DOFP>Winter Soldier TO YOU. Not to everybody as evidenced by the results of YOUR thread poll.

No matter how you put it. Your favorite is losing. Sorry but it's true.

hmm, gotta give it to x-men, i think. dug cap too but it did start to lose me a little with its baysplosions in the sky climax.

LMAO it lost a lady sitting next to me. She kept groaning in her seat the longer it went on. She was ready to leave but her fella was not budging and didn't bat an eye.

I actually think Days of Future Past made me like Amazing Spider-Man 2 less, which I at first enjoyed ok.

it's weird. both franchises have been through some major ups-and-downs and watching x-men kick-ass and thinking back to some of the stuff in spider-man, it's just embarrassing really.

It kind of made me forget about it. I liked it well enough though.

I loved Captain America 2 a lot. but X-men Days of Future past was a masterpiece.. Amazing Spider-Man 2 to had great leads and a couple really good scenes.. and a good share of bad ones.
