In a perfect world, Mad Max: Fury Road and Furious 7 BO numbers would be switched.

Nah no way, people I know would never watch MM in theaters.

Still made 460 million back in 2005 with no 3D.

It like the old Hp films be like near 900 million today.

So 700+ overseas is not that crazy.

PP and mad Max is amazing.

However WW box office battle this year is crazy this year.

Near? Without 3D and the expansion of the markets, HP1 would adjust to over $1b. With 3D, China, Russia, etc...lol..it's in a whole different league.

I think Furious 7 just happened to be a perfect storm. Being the first big release of the year also helped immensely similar to how Cap 2 got the early jump on TASM2 last year.

Which means CA:CW could be in trouble coming 5 weeks after BvS.

Weekend Report - 'Max' 'Pitch'-Slapped

Huge weekend. I would have never expected PP2 to open to $70 million. $200 million is likely. Mad Max opened greatly as well. I know a lot of people weren't confident it would even get $30 million, let alone over $40 million.

Also, WB somehow got MM opening in 3,702 theaters this weekend? That's gotta be one of the widest R-Rated openings ever.

What the hell is happening here? I have no idea what he meant with this:

Though not the near-perfect musical the first film was Uni. has a bonafide hit on its hands.

Didn't think the movie was as good as the first (which was apparently near-perfect) but Uni is pretty happy with the numbers.
