Seeing it tonight at 7.

 :whosad:

In Poland they change the release date to 10th Aug due to the World Cup. :(

I hope for some previews, cause it's the most anticipated movie of the summer for me.

So is there any reason why the goddess Paula Patton is no longer in these films?

she's not a good actress?

rebecca ferguson casting was so inspired. she wipes the floor with so many actresses today

With the exception of MI3, MI has been very consistent at the box office:

1 Mission: Impossible II Par. $215,409,889 3,669 $57,845,297 3,653 5/24/00
2 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Par. $209,397,903 3,555 $12,785,204 425 12/16/11
3 Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Par. $195,042,377 3,988 $55,520,089 3,956 7/31/15
4 Mission: Impossible Par. $180,981,856 3,012 $45,436,830 3,012 5/22/96
5 Mission: Impossible III Par. $134,029,801 4,059 $47,743,273 4,054 5/5/06

However adjusting for inflation shows the decline you can expect for a movie series, especially one running so long (it has been 22 years since MI1!).

1 Mission: Impossible Par. $379,570,500 $180,981,856 5/22/96
2 Mission: Impossible II Par. $370,473,000 $215,409,889 5/24/00
3 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Par. $246,468,600 $209,397,903 12/16/11
4 Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Par. $219,012,100 $195,042,377 7/31/15
5 Mission: Impossible III Par. $189,688,000 $134,029,801 5/5/06

Not sure MI6 can reverse the tendency, unless the great reviews bring in some new, youngers fans.

I'm guessing she didn't want to come back.

I think they were filming the last one around the same time she reached her breaking point with that douche nozzle ex-husband of hers.

EDIT: Someone else beat me to it. 😂

Pretty much sums up the situation MI series is in. OS seems to be the saving grace offcourse certain Europe and LA markets are following the same trajectory like DOm.

Asia seems to be the brightest spot. Bigger than/if not one of the biggest franchisees here.

I really liked it, and I think the 3rd act will push the WOM to astronomical levels (hopefully!!!)

And concerning a certain scene in the trailers:

There is no shot in the movie with Ethan Hunt in a helicopter about to collide with a truck. In fact theres no scene involving that truck at all IIRC.

Makes me wonder if they cut out an entire action beat or just made that money shot for the trailers.
