cannastop
Just now, Ethan Hunt said: Why? The Sloth trailer is the one that got butts in the seats Well, the final trailer is what told me that the movie would live up to its early announcement in 2013. Also, a merely silly funny animal movie doesn't get to $300 M domestic. It didn't work for Madagascar, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda or Rio. We have no clue how the majority of this year's top grossers will perform If it were November, yes, but we're not even half way through 2016 yet.
lilmac
With the 'summer season' barely started, does anyone highly anticipate any of the remaining summer 2016 movies? Independence Day 2, XMen, Finding Dory, Mutant Turtles 2, Suicide Squad, Bourne, etc. will open big and quite a few will be enjoyable but there don't seem to be any upcoming 4 quadrant behemoths either. Normal blockbusters...which is fine.

Maybe they won't be bigger than Captain America 3, but hey.

Normal blockbusters...which is fine. Finding Dory is definitely 4-quadrant... its G rating makes it accessible to young kids and if it ends up being an excellent followup, buzz could be through the roof.
