JohnnyGossamer
I don't see Dory opening higher than $135M DOM. If Minions goes higher than that, Dory will not touch Minions.
tupek
It'll matter to Illumination Entertainment, who made Minions! Just like it mattered to Disney with Frozen, and Pixar with Toy Story 3 with the WW records. nevermind Edited July 10, 2015 by tupek
KATCH-2D2
Parents want to do things that their kids enjoy. They don't care if they like it or not they care if their kids liked it. Until you have kids you won't understand this part. You do anything for your kids you want them to be happy. Not really. I loved Alien/Aliens/Friday 13th/Hellraisers when I was a kid and my parent f***ing hated them.

WrathOfHan
Dory should at least get 100M. Is reviews are great, 130M is very possible.

Dory gonna take the domestic record too, WW I don't feel as confident in but I think it could happen
scoobysaurus
Why do you just assume that it's IO that is getting killed by Minions and not JW? As far as I know not every drive-in is pairing up Minions with JW so it shouldn't be the only movie that benefits from the double features.Because they're both animated movies. It'll steal some of JW's audience too but I feel Minions is much more of direct competition to IO than it is to JW as they're both animated movies. That and also the inevitable fudging that's going to happen as some folks already pointed out, since Minions and JW are both from Universal. keysersoze123
It looks like minions will be humongous. 140m ow 400 dom and 1.4b ww.
JohnnyGossamer
Dory is getting 150M+ OW. Still have Terminator breaking out, Minions under $100M OW and Ted 2 around $80M OW, no? Just wanna confirm... We'll see, man. I'd love for that to happen but Pixar movies usually don't open that big. I'm thinking it opens to to whatever Toy Story 3 adjusts to OW DOM. redfirebird2008
ouch! Ted 2 will be in dollar theaters soon. Between F&F7, JP4, and Minions, I don't think Universal cares. They probably even have a tax writeoff for any losses on Ted 2.

CJohn
Fifty Shades of Grey too (even though it came up short of your loonie hopes lol). Yeah, that also gave them a big amount of money. And luckily for them Seventh Son and Blackhat were just distribution deals.
