CHARLIE'S ANGELS | 15 NOVEMBER 2019 | Sony | Elizabeth Banks directing. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska

Recommended Posts

People don't like KStew (undeserved but facts are facts) and Twilight fans stopped caring ever since she cucked RPatz with the married director. So Naomi is literally this movie's only hope and that depends on Aladdin reception. PStew (shit joke I know) is a good choice for Bosley, though.

flopped overseas

Foreign: $156,100,000 (Cloudy 2 made 139m in International revenues with is 154.5m intl no China performance)

Rumored budget: 70m

I get having doubt on the rumored budget, but if it is close to the truth it more than doubled it's budget oversea without a China release.

If that is flopping oversea what did Equalizer 2 did, bombed WW ?

did Equalizer have 3 A-list actresses on it and was a sequel to a very succesful franchise?

No Equalizer didn't had A-list actress.

Ocean 8 was a reboot (the little sharing the same name/cameo is close to irrelevant) not really a sequel and was a world cup release.

It is more on the underperforming side OS to not reach a 40/60, not even a clean 45/55, not a flop for a small production mid budget.

i actually think it's really cool that they're giving three unknowns a shot at leading roles in this, even if it doesn't pay off at the box office.

It has more to do with a cheap cast than giving anyone "a shot".

Which is fine cause most superhero lead actors are never super popular in the first place.

That's not how it works. If they make a decent movie and market it well, it will make money. The general public's love/hate for actors is so over-rated that it is funny. It is mostly IP and the quality of work that determines how a movie will perform. Stephen King's It was a TV mini-series that they re-booted with a bunch of unknown actors and it made more money than any non-existing IP, purely star vehicle in the 21st century.

unless you're katherine heigl, then your movie is doomed.

surprised Kristen Stewart got this role.

After Twilight, it seemed she held onto most of her personality, therefore maybe making independent films instead of family friendly mainstream movies???

Elizabeth Banks probably pitched her a feminist subversion take on the property.

(I'm not saying that cynically, it's as good as any other reason to make a blockbuster.)
