Until the guilds say so, Argo's out of the race.

Disagree completely. Argo imo is a huge threat to win it all this year. It's not divisive. I think it has a better shot than ZDT does.

Argo scored the all important Ensamble on top of Arkin nod in supporting. ZDT didn`t get Ensamble and it`s a complete bullshit that SAG didn`t the movie. They nominated Chastain. End of. So this Argo advantage isn`t something to discard lightly.

I think both still have solid chances of winning. ZDT may come close to frontrunner status if its box office performance benefits hugely from the political hoopla surrounding it. Controversy can hurt but it can also help.

I really don't think anything has a chance at winning BP anymore besides Lincoln. Every other movie is just too uncertain. ZDT is beginning to fall behind Argo, and Argo is just a movie that I absolutely can't see winning BP. Best case scenario for Argo is they'll give it to Affleck for director, but still give BP to Lincoln. The others don't stand any chance at winning (lol at some people still thinking Les Mis has a shot). Lincoln has BP.

Finally saw Les Miz and wow, it was great. Surprised critics were so cynical about it. It's not out of this race just yet but I think it may be too polarizing for the win. However, I think the ball is in Lincoln's court with Argo and Silver Linings as close competitors (the 2 films everyone seems to love).

Argo vs Lincoln. It's a two horse race, ZDT isn't as loved as those two, plus Bigelow recently won. Les Mis and Pi should be lucky to be nominated, both trash. Silver Linings can spoil in a few categories, but it's not in the BP race. Any way I look at it, it's Lincoln vs Argo.

Trash? They were marvellous films. With the 5% system there just HAVE to be surprises in this category. I wonder what they will be. Maybe a high profile snub. Django? A below the radar film will almost definately make it. The Impossible? Edited by pieman
