The sooner people realize that they don't need the Academy selecting your favorite performance/movie to validate your opinions, the better off you'll be.

I am excited to see Best Supporting Actor Academy Award Winner Mark Rylance in Dunkirk.

Oh, I'm well aware Stallone still has one of the best performances in 2015, but that man will never have the opportunity to win an Oscar again. This was his one shot at the title. There's no Rocky II!

Seriously, One of the things I was looking forward tonight was seeing Sly finally win an award for a role he made famous. EVERYBODY knows about Rocky. It was going to be the highlight of my night, but the academy had to fuck it up by giving it to someone who won't be remembered 15 days from now. FFFUCCKKK THAT NOISE.

What a freaking joke.

So when an actor most people don't know of wins, it's because he bought the award and/or they only handed it to him because he's their friend.

But if Stallone had won, the award is legit?

Stallone should have won because he was the best supporting performance this year.  Pretty simple.

out of the two of them i think rylance gets the better career boost from this so that's something. stallone didn't need it as much. rylance is one of the best definitely a dude who deserves an oscar. and bridge of spies is imo the best movie of the bp nominees so i'm glad it won a thing.
