‘Batman V Superman’ Takes A Dive With $51M-$56M Second Weekend – Friday Evening B.O. Update

bvs superman

4TH WRITE THRU 10:42 PM UPDATE:  Refresh for updates  Well, those poor critical reviews and mixed word of mouth for Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are finally making a dent in the pic’s second weekend, with a revised FSS take tonight of $51M-$56M. If the film comes in at the low-end of those projections, it would represent a 69% drop for the DC superhero mashup. This despite the fact that BvS has the weekend all to itself, without any new wide threat

Can't say that Zoo's number surprises me - but then again I was expecting it to drop on Thursday and increase to the 5.5 area for 18-19m so it's right on target. BvS on the other hand.... Yikes that is NOT a good number no matter how hard you try to spin it (and I have tried to remain as neutral as possible in this BOT mess the past week.)

As for GND2... screw that wrecking my derby..... who knew it would open BELOW the first one in 3x as many theaters.

And the rest of the top 10 is solid all things considered. If Allegiant can walk away with only a -40% fall it really goes to show how idiotic Lionsgate was for sticking to the weekend before BvS to release it.

Did anyone mention the possibility this estimate might be related to April Fools? :jeb!:

If it was April Fool's it would have had a 25% or 95% drop.  This is too believable.

It's dropping harder in other markets like China, SK, HK, Russia and about the same in the UK.
