The first Neighbors sucked so this isn't really surprising. Just a lot of lame, unfunny "gross out" frat humor + Seth Rogen yet again trying to wring laughs out of being a hairy schlub. Rose Byrne was the saving grace.

The GA is gonna fucking haaaate Nice Guys. It's not the style of comedy people enjoy right now cuz it's kinda slowly paced and neither Judd Apatow style riffing or constant slapstick.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Well, foremost, much of GA won't see it. And, aside from that, it's that different Out Of Sight, Pulp Fiction, etc. Adult audiences dig that flavor on raunch, wit and violence.

Ouch at the 50% drop for Neighbors 2 and OUCH at that Nice Guys number. Big shame for the latter, won't even beat Money Monster... hopefully it'll leg it up. Still, I can't be too sad, as this bodes well for my Angry Birds 3X Nice Guys OW bet on the BO Casino

Anecdotal evidence, I know, but I saw it with an adult crowd and there weren't many laughs (I'm not a big fan either)

The first Neighbors was hilarious. Zac Efron and Seth Rogen were genius together. I can't wait to see the sequel tomorrow.

Things are looking good for Angry Birds, bad for Neighbors 2, and meh for The Nice Guys 

 

Angry Birds: $43-48 million OW 

Neighbors 2: $23-26 million OW

The Nice Guys: $11-13 million OW 

 

Angry Birds should do $120-160 million DOM. 

Neighbors 2 should do $60-65 million DOM.

The Nice Guys should do $35-55 million DOM. 

 

Hopefully, Alice 2 and X-Men both finish above $150 million+ DOM, and X-Men does $200 million+ DOM.

The first Neighbors barely scraped past 3x. It's fair to assume the sequel won't go above $75m.

Where should they have placed The Nice Guys? I doubt it would have done any better in the spring with those  four big releases sucking up everything (deadpool, zootopia, jungle book, BvS)

Fall is way too crowded as well.
