Weird that The Secret Life of Pets's gross hasn't changed today and is probably the same.

It's a $366.5M DOM right now.....though it may be in danger for an early closed theatrical run.

Take a look at the post 2 steps under the one you wrote this. The-Numbers did update it ;)

Really good for Strange and Trolls. Strange on par w/Thor 2 (a post-Avengers sequel), Trolls outdoing KFP3 (and we all thought it was gonna bomb a few month ago, so cute). Okay'ish for Ridge, but the legs will be amazeballs. Strange may struggle to 600M WW simply because of Fantastic Beasts, but if explodes in Asia, it could get there for sure. It had a big OW in China for the matter.

DAT HOLD FOR THE ACCOUNTANT THO

It's already more than half way there.

I guess Fantastic Beats will probably cut Doctor Strange's overseas ( and perhaps domestic ) legs, but at least the movie still has 1 week left until Fantastic Beasts release date.

We also have to see Strange's drops for the next weekend and if the movie is being frontloaded or not. It dropped to 4th place in Spain, for example.

Agreed with brainiac, ~650 total for Strange, absolute minimum 615.

The higher weekend predictions all came after the Thursday number showed up. I wonder if that's partly because it was so well reviewed, the people who pay attention to rotten tomatoes are the ones who will show up in higher numbers Thurs night, and the rest of the weekend sees a smaller change.

Basically the RT elasticity of Thursday demand is high for superheroes.

So what's the worst / best case scenario for the Hacksaw Ridge run?

Will Veterans Day give it a boost?

Hard to see it doing less than 50. If WOM really kicks in, 70 seems possible. If it actually gets a Best Picture nom that could be another 5-10m.

FB or no FB, I don't see Doctor Strange struggling to get to $600 million.

Every successful movie has a vocal haters group so that's not surprising.

Same thing for everything, it's even worse when it comes to videogames, probably because users are younger than movie watchers

DOCTOR STRANGE stat sheet: Budget ($165M) Domestic Debut ($85M) Domestic IMAX ($12.2M) CinemaScore (A) Male (58%) 26+ (67%)

$85m is really a fantastic number for a first movie, far better than the $70m predicted earlier :)
