That it is. I guess we should get used to these Star Wars December/early January numbers for the foreseeable future.

Anyone think Disney will dare to move the Han Solo movie back to the mid December date alongside Avatar 2?

Hopefully not. If Avatar 2 handily beats Solo Kal and @IronJimbo will be unbearable.

To show that EVERY movie counts:

15     Queen of Katwe    BV    $8,821,802

Disney MIGHT do more than 3.09b DOM, but if it doesn't....

Disney just sort of kicking along.

The Moana number really helps this Wednesday.

Disney ends up with 22.7394 Wednesday. Needed about 20.9 to stay on pace for $3B.

R1 Tues-Wed total is just about what i would have expected, but with discount Tuesday it seems like you have a higher Tues and lower Wed than you would have had in 2011. I had it conservatively as an 85MM Mon-Thur. Looks like it should be more in the 89-90 range.

Disney needs 60.947 to get to 3B by Saturday night. 20.32 avg next three days. Feels like they likely clear it by 6-8MM total come Saturday night.

people go to the cinemas at 31 December in the late evening or night?
I think here are the cinemas closed, at least in country side regions.

This is what the show times look like in my local multiplex through the 31st (I assume the situation is similar in other parts of Europe as well)

For RO:

I think you killed some psrts whilst transfering.

Still thank you for the effort

Looking at legs for SW7 and RO, I don't see a reason why Disney won't move Han Solo movie to December. Weekdays for 2 wks are fucking huge. Just look at RO, it opened less than TDK and now is up 16M. That total will be over 50M by Monday. Weekdays are too juiced up, which is amazing for BO watching that we do.

Moana really stands out from the holdovers, it really has recovered after the gut punch it received from Sing and TC.

Looks like 250 is still on the table. Can't see sub-240 really.

I think they want to test SW in the summer and a Solo movie is perfect for it. Then I think they will return to Christmas for all saga movies. Wouldn't mind if they went to two Star Wars movies a year.

R1 only needs 11 million today to make the 2nd best 2nd week alltime surpassing  149.6 Jurassic World made !

Crazy to think that TFA basically made in its second weekend what Jurassic World did in its second week, and that was a $650m+ monster. An absolutely insane domestic box office run we may never see again unless DC, Marvel and Fox all make a team-up movie or James Cameron truly does make us "shit ourselves with our mouths wide open" with Avatar 2...
