Fandango's Most Anticipated Films of 2017:

Star Wars: Episode VIII
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Wonder Woman
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Justice League
The Fate of the Furious
Fifty Shades Darker
Logan
Despicable Me 3

Crazy how far the Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers franchises have fallen. Years ago they would have been among the most anticipated but they both suffered from sub-par 4th movies. However, like said 4th movies, overseas gross will prop the 5th entries up in 2017.

Sing couldn't even hold Frozen's Snow Balls!

Sing was only slightly better than Pet's. And Pets was my worse animated movie of the year.

What about Ice Age 5? Wild Life? Norm of the North?

Great holds for Moana (-8%) and LLL (-5%)

Every day I get just a little bit annoyed that LLL isn't already in full wide release, it's putting up almost the same numbers as movies that opened later and have 3x the theaters (Fences) or 4x the theaters (WH and AC).

Didn't see Wild Life....

I enjoyed Ice Age 5 and Norm. At least they made me laugh.....unlike Pets

And the decreased theater count. It is holding up really well against TS2.

Hopefully it regains some theaters back.  Disney has done it before and seeing how well Moana is performing I'm not sure why they're not doing it.  Even if theaters have to oblige by the contracts for the newer releases, there's still enough theaters to go towards Moana. -_-

I would expect maybe a bit higher? 58-60 million? I'm no expert on this though, haven't looked at trends

Deadline reported  $275.3M  yesterday, so that's almost 20m USD gross overseas. A good day where its overseas gross beat its Dom Gross!

BOM updated first, only a hint, during big releases they do the first week or two often daily the OS update, often long before deadline reports, but also sometimes later on. After the cooling down from the general excitement BOM gets slower again.

on track to break $400M dom SAT on & pass Cap3 to be #2 dom hit of 2016. $440M thru MON, shd pass Dory by JAN8.
