What's wrong with people, smfh.

Just more proof for my theory as to why we haven't found any other intelligent life in the universe:  Their societies destroy themselves once they invent their version of social media. :kitschjob:

I went ahead and deleted the tweet (which isn't showing up any more thanks to the account suspension), and put in the quote block "-accidental posting of fake twitter account deleted-".  :)

At this point, nothing 2016 does should shock us.

As I thought it to be true I thought:

2016, the year too many icons died.

To me she is an icon. Including to have worked as a mechanic and e.g. as a Jeep driver for the army during WW II

And for stories like:

inviting the Saudi King Abdullah to a drive through her land / parc. He thought some driver... She drove.

It is said he was a bit afraid...

For fans of Moana, take heart.  Its late legs look to be the difference between Disney breaking the 3b DOM mark and not breaking it.  Oh, to be sure, take any one movie away (including the powerhouse combos of TFA Jan+ and R1's Dec run), and it wouldn't stand a chance.  But these 4m days that Moana is pulling in is all the difference right now.  If it has been 'only' getting 2 million or 3 million days, it might have just missed.

Of course, R1 could do really well on Fri and Sat, making those late legs a bit moot.  But, for now at least, it's giving Disney quite a bit of cushion.

Strange is still pitching a few hundred thousand per day too. Every little bit counts!

To show that EVERY movie counts:

15     Queen of Katwe    BV    $8,828,789

(actuals through 12/28 added by Yours Truly)

Disney MIGHT do more than 3.009b DOM, but if it doesn't....

That Rogue One number is just about $345K behind Avatar for the 2nd best second Wednesday of all time. It'll have to settle for a VERY close 3rd. There is a considerable gap until the next best in this regard, which belongs to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ($11.39M).

It's also higher than all 1st wednesdays except a select few movies.

That it is. I guess we should get used to these Star Wars December/early January numbers for the foreseeable future.

Anyone think Disney will dare to move the Han Solo movie back to the mid December date alongside Avatar 2?
