This is really nitpicking, but isn't Disney's usual date the 3rd Friday in December, which would be the 21st in 2018? Or are they thinking of shifting it back a week because that's cutting it TOO close to Christmas?

Christmas eve falls on a Monday in 2018. If you start on the 21st, you only have about 11 days only the holiday period is over. Starting the weekend before will obviously leave you with the first week without any true holidays, but that beats the alternative of having just one week of great weekdays. The weekdays right after the start should be good enough anyway, even if it sees no or only very little help from holidays.

I also don't think that "3rd Friday of the month" is of any relevance to Disney. If anything, it would be 3rd weekend of the month, and in 2018 that's 14/15/16. Who cares if the Friday of the first weekend technically is the last day of November, it doesn't really make a difference.

I don't get why Dec. 24-31 numbers are still estimates.

The actuals of the small(er) ones just started to trickle in, so the next up to ... lets say 3h to be on the more sure side - the other actuals will come in too. A few soon, a few late... like always around X-Mas / NYE... :)

Okay, I figured it didn't really make much of a difference. You also make a good point about it still being the 3rd weekend in December. Didn't think of that.

Damn Europa Corp scoring legit bombs. STX might push Valerian at $50m dom

They better not spend too much money marketing that film. Seems like a waste. They seriously need to move it out of July and into August-where it can either bomb quietly or have a chance to succeed with no major competition.

Because the studios are mainly shut down for that week? We should get updated actuals trickling in for the whole week over the next several days.

Shut down? Wtf!! Are they on a holiday or something?!?!

His post stated that you have to be a woman to enjoy musicals and he wouldn't know anything about it just because he's a guy. So no.

It did? No it didn't, can you read? I said most girls I know love that movie so MAYBE that has to do with it - I don't know - I didn't ever say you had to be a woman to enjoy it. I'm sure many guys do I just don't know any.
