Beauty hit our our hearts though.

I concur: One of the greatest films of all time in my opinion.  No other Walt Disney Animation Studios film has matched the sheer awesomeness, beauty, awe, and pure magic Beauty and the Beast conveyed and expressed.  If there ever was a film that truly made you believe in magic and love, its Beauty and the Beast no doubt.

I'm kind of glad the Greek Wedding sequel had no where NEAR the legs of the first movie.

Well ya cause then it would have made 5B DOM, and caused Iron Jimbo to proclaim that Avatar 2 has the chance at 15B DOM

Youre joking, right?! Rogue One crumbling?? Hahaha you must not have been following the box office whatsoever. Sing isn't hitting #1, no.

What will be comfortably the number 1 film of the year has been "crumbling"??? Interesting choice of words. And, no when a much bigger movie shows larger drops than much smaller movies, it's not anything like "crumbling". In order to get whether Rogue One has been crumbling or not, we only need compare it with films such Civil War & BvS.

I'm afraid this has been clear since last Friday. Sing is both much smaller (than Rogue One) and a kiddie flick, both factors contributing to much better legs. I would be more than glad to be proven wrong.

Paterson is off to an okay start. Probably gonna top out with less than $5M unless Driver gets a surprise nomination (which he won't).

Paterson is a great film, I saw it a few weeks back and thought Adam Driver was excellent in it.

What went wrong with A Monster Calls ? It has very good reviews, good cast and Focus Features knows how to open movies in limited release. $72,000 from 4 theaters in 10 days seems incredibly weak.

It just got lost in the shuffle and whatever awards buzz it might've had has completely faded. They should've kept it as a wide October release, where it actually might have done alright.

I won't be surprised if Star Wars falls by about 50% today. All the kids are still off school and the movie theater was pretty busy today. So I'm going to call around and a 8 million-dollar Tuesday.

Focus seems to have faltered in the last year, their only successes were through the Gramery label with The Forest and London has Fallen and critical success with Kubo and Nocturnal Animals.

At the very least, 50%. A 55-57% drop is what I'm expecting.

And yet they still had a much better year than most studios. Fox Searchlight made only $30M last year if you take out 2015 holdover Brooklyn, yikes.
