I will say this trailer is much more effective on a big screen in the theater. Watched it online and didn't get the hype at all, but seeing it in a theater I could see how it could do like 80-100m now.

Provided Paramount doesn’t fuck up the marketing by showing us the creature.

 

Then again, with a festival opening premiere suggesting confidence in the movie, perhaps the movie is smart enough to not show us the creature.

Looks good. Just thinking about it the marketing reminds me of 10 Cloverfield Lane 2 years ago where it feels unknown about what’s going on and at best I have a feeling this will do 10 Cloverfield Lane numbers.

The super bowl spot made it seem like there was a governement-scientist cause for whatever’s out there. A shame, I feel that has been done so many times now, I would rather this not be a post apocalyptic movie and just show the family as rural people.

I want to be excited for this movie but I feel like I've been duped before by a similar concept.  I hope this is scary, I hope this isn't misleading like ICAT.
