2018's Blunt-aissance can now officially begin. (Pretend Gnomes doesn't exist)

Nah, Rampage will get 45M at the least

I've yet to see it go by on Pulse, and buzz is pretty muted. BOP's current prediction (31/72) sounds about right under current circumstances. WB needs to pick up marketing FAST now that RPO is out.

What will be the precedence for a small and original horror movie to open over $50 million? The first Conjuring movie had great hype and it opened to $42 million. Split opened to $40 million. That $40-42 million seems like a good target to me.

It's The Rock, people will show up. How walk-up heavy was Jumanji for example? Or rather, how were pre-sales weeks before it opened compared to mere days? I honestly think people who like him are not the kind to buy too many pre-sale tickets.

People said the same thing about Baywatch

I don't think Jumanji is a good comparison given that had a family skew.

Looking on iSpot, Rampage seems to be getting the smallest ad push out of WB's recent blockbusters. It has only aired 1,141 ads so far vs 2,802 for RPO and 2,428 for Tomb Raider. Even though it will gain more airings over the next week, I don't know if WB will buy enough adspace to get past TR's total by next Thursday.

iSpot airings for this month's releases:

Blockers: 2,494

A Quiet Place: 2,047

Chappaquiddick: 1,381

The Miracle Season: 479

Rampage: 1,141

Truth or Dare: 892

Isle of Dogs: 480

(Sgt. Stubby doesn't have a page)

I Feel Pretty: 101

Traffik: 41

(Super Troopers doesn't have a page)

Infinity War: 360

On YouTube, I've been getting a lot of ads for A Quiet Place, Blockers, Truth or Dare, and I Feel Pretty, so those four have a strong online presence.

Very different types of movies plus it came before Jumanji which raised his profile even further.

But true, a better comparison would be San Andreas. I really don't see it going much lower than that. 40M OW would be the minimum imho.

Rampage has a still a nice push:

Already close to 20M on US tv spot alone 3 full week before release, does look like it will get the giant WB spending.

Above 21.5m by now, higher than blockers even if it release a week after.

Hey, there, everyone...

I'm not here regularly, but I've seen some chatter regarding MovieTiclets.com tracking and Fandango Pulse tracking.

A couple of months ago, I created some hourly reports that track this info for a completely different purpose.
Maybe it will help you out as well.

Fandango Pulse Pipeline (resets on Mondays)

MovieTickets.com Top 5 (the MovieTickets.com website does not update overnight from about 8 PM CST - 6 AM CST)

Baywatch looked like unfunny garbage. This is a monster movie w/The Rock and a giant gorilla fighting a giant crocodile and a giant wolf, it's literally the GA's wet dream.

It's gonna be a mini-Kong: Skull Island. People thought Kong was gonna bomb too.

Hope Rampage bombs so we can put this "Rock is the biggest movie star ever!!1!!!" nonsense to rest.

Is Blockers going to break out? It looks so lame and the concept is so dated. "Let's make a pact to lose our virginity at prom ;)" feels to 1981. I'm confused by the good reviews.

Hopefully Quiet Place breaks out in a major way but I don't see it doing much more than $20M.
